Sox
I would like to introduce everyone to Max (formally Sox). All I can say is WOW what a sweet, sweet loving Boxer boy he is. I initially start looking for a Boxer as a friend for my other Boxer girl, Maggie Mae when I came across the Boxer Rescue web site. After I looked at all of the available dogs on the site I just kept coming back to Max so I went to the adoption at Petco with Maggie to let them interact and see how they would get along together. Since I didn't see any problems between them I started the adoption process and had him brought to my home and the rest is history !!!! He is such a joy to be around and is chocked full of Boxer personality !! He gets fussy with me when he's hungry and needs to go outside to do his business and when I come home from work he greets me with Boxer kisses and wagging his nubby tail. I cant imagine what it was like before I found him and I think that Maggie is on her own since Max is all mine !!!! Oh by the way did I mention how sweet he is ??? My thanks to everyone at Boxer Rescue for all of the work that you do to save these wonderful dogs.
Andy
We adopted Andy on June 25, 2006 and I can tell you our family has not been the same since. He is definitely a much needed and happy addition to our family. Our dog of fifteen years had recently passed away when we found Andy on your website. Andy and my son (7 years old) became the best of friends right away. They play together constantly and love each other very much. He also got to meet his 'cousin', Dempsey, (another Boxer) and they have become fast friends as well. Andy is a very well behaved dog. He is still curious about our cat but I think they are learning their boundaries. We call him 'butt wiggler' whenever we get home because he is so happy to see us his entire body wiggles from how hard he is wiggling his little butt! He has already found his favorite seat in the house which USED to be my chair but I think he has decided otherwise. I attached a photo for your amusement as well. I can't thank Boxer Rescue enough for letting us have this chance to have such a wonderful, loving animal be a part of our lives. Whoever got rid of him and allowed him to roam the streets before you picked him up has no idea what a treasure they threw away! I will keep you updated on his growth and please know he is very well taken care of and very loved!
The Northrop's
Sunny
A friend of ours saw Sonny on the St. Louis Boxer Rescue website and told us about him. As soon as I saw his picture I fell in love! I contacted Boxer Rescue and was told he would be at the Paw Di Gras event. Unfortunately a few days prior to the event Sonny became ill and could not attend. I went to the event and met all the other Boxers and even the puppies. While talking with Sonny's foster mom she agreed to let us meet him that evening. When we arrived there Sonny was so shy and frightened he hid in his crate. After some coaxing and reassurance he came out and started playing with his Boxer siblings.
A week later we were contacted that Sonny was well and ready for adoption. I was so excited I ran to the store and bought toys, food and anything else I could fit in the cart. I felt like I was adopting a child!! We had a few rough days in the beginning but Cindy offered advice and reassurance. Our 7 year old Boxer, Shelby and Sonny now are the best of friends and spend hours playing. He is such a joy to be with!
Sonny passed obedience training, the K9 Good Citizenship Test, and the test to visit hospitals and nursing home with flying colors! He truly is the perfect gentlemen. Once he turns a year old he will be given his certificate.
Sonny's foster parents were wonderful. Everything they told us about him was the truth. I love what Boxer Rescue is doing and everyone I have come into contact with has been wonderful.
