Description:

UPDATE 8/6/09: Hobo continues to do better with each passing day. He is now neutered, is over his mange and has grown back most of his coat and has managed to put on weight, bringing him up to 33 lb. He does VERY well with other dogs. He is still very timid when meeting new people but is getting much better about it. Hobo is very affectionate and loves to cuddle once you have gained his trust. We feel that he is always going to be a smaller Boxer but we do think that in time he will overcome his shyness. As far as vaccines goes, he still needs one more distemper booster shot which he will receive next week.

Say hi to Hobo!

Hobo is a very petite brindle Boxer boy that is about 6 months old. He has naturally floppy ears and a docked tail. At 24 lb, he is underweight.

Hobo was found running stray in the St. Francois county area. A good Samaritan almost hit him with her car when he darted across a rural road. She stopped and when she saw what horrible condition he was in, she took him home to care for him. Hobo was horribly underweight and had both sarcoptic and demodex mange. He has had a negative skin scraping for his mange and we hare hoping that at his vet appointment next week, he will have another negative scraping. Hobo suffered a lot of hair loss but it is growing back nicely now. Slowly and steadily he has been putting on weight but still has a ways to go. Hobo is a very tiny boy for his age and may very well always be a small Boxer. Hobo is very timid with strangers. Sometimes when meeting new people, he will just sit and shake. He is much better when he gets to know someone but even after being in his foster home for over a week now, he still tends to show a little fear with his foster family. We are working with him to help gain more confidence. He does get along with the other dogs in the household well. He seemed to not have a clue about house training and is still having accidents indoors so we are working on that with him. Hobo is scheduled to be neutered soon.

Securely fenced yard only. St. Louis and surrounding areas within 50 miles only. We do reference checks. Home visit required prior to adoption. $250.00 adoption fee.
